Love, Thy Future!
I saw the fabric of time rolling out,
I saw the fabric of time rolling out,
punctuated with empty spaces,
waiting for victims,
eyes in a shroud;
A sieve, I perceive,
Pulls me under,
Welcomes with hunger, receives . . .
A sieve, I perceive,
Pulls me under,
Welcomes with hunger, receives . . .
I slipped,
I fell,
through a worn out weft,
Hanging by a shard –
A strong frayed end that binds
others like me with hearts hard;
A tangled web stitched with hope,
stronger than any rope;
stronger than any rope;
As I sway on the fringes,
life goes by whizzing;
head buzzing,
I hang on, barely flinching,
Hanging by a thread,
I hang on, barely flinching,
Hanging by a thread,
I meet an old bed-fellow -
how'd she get out of my head?
her name is Past,
You also know her as The Dark Angel of Dread;
how'd she get out of my head?
her name is Past,
You also know her as The Dark Angel of Dread;
She waves out – “hello?!
Here’s a hand,
I’ll come back
as whatever you choose to start over,
as whatever you choose to start over,
Your present, is what I hunger,
come on, you rover!”
come on, you rover!”
Ignoring,
Controlling,
Praying,
Looking away,
I see a beautiful dream:
A friend, if I may . . .
A lovely damsel,
A lovely damsel,
Such a lovely queen;
Shyly she reaches out,a frail hand,
"Come, walk with me;
My name is eternity,
future, faith, serenity;
Love thyself,
I’m your fiancĂ©."

thank you stories untold :-) how u doing, likin the Kingdom?
doing fine! No not liking the kingdom, m missing home!!!! :-(
Amen...
finally it sunk in! its really beautiful.
i wonder though why the past and future are both feminine, gendered.
Janaki: u want me to turn gay in the future?????
sweetie, ur sexuality is urs to decide. i will support your decision :)
the poem spoke to me of love, but not just love for a person. maybe i read it all wrong.
Janaki: it is not about a person . . . one of the "women" is a personification of a hideous past . . . the other "woman" is a personification of a hope in the future . . . both are "women" coz i see it that way . . . nothing more . . . though, i agree, the sex doen't matter, but it just came to me that way, so i let it be that way . . .
magnifique!!
